FAU: Futsal Super league to kickoff on 1st May, clubs pooled in two groups

The 2021 Futsal season will officially get underway on Saturday 1st May 2021 at the Old Kampala Sports Arena, with the Futsal Super league.( FSL)

This season’s FSL will feature eight clubs, who have been drawn in two groups, A and B

Group A has Mengo, Aidenal SOSA, Big Talent and Kampala Junior Team while group B has Park, Kisenyi, Yeak Kabowa and Synergy

The top two clubs after all the matchdays will then progress to the playoffs to be played on home and away basis to determine the two finalists.

While, they will also playoff placement matches to determine teams that teams that will finish in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th position.

This will be the fourth edition of the Futsal Super League since the establishment in 2017. Dream won the inaugural edition in May 2018 while Yeak Kabowa won the second.

These eight Futsal Super league clubs will then play in the Futsal Uganda Cup which will be starting at the quarter finals stage.

After all these competitions are done, there will be a Futsal Super Cup trophy where the champion of the Futsal Uganda Cup will battle out with the Futsal Super league winner.

All these competitions will be played almost behind closed doors with a limited number of fans allowed to attend according to the Futsal Association Uganda  CEO Ibrahim Mugera

“The 2020-21 Futsal season will kick off Saturday, 1st May 2021 with all safety requirements in place. The games in Futsal Super League, Futsal Uganda Cup and Futsal Super Cup shall be played at the Old Kampala Sports Arena. Due to COVID-19, only a limited number of fans will attend with live streaming for all matches.”

The season is set to wind-up on 17th July 2021.

1st May 2021:
  • Mengo Vs Aidenal SOSA (9 AM)
  • Park Vs Kisenyi (10 AM)
  • Kampala Junior Team Vs Kisenyi (11:30 AM)
  • Synergy Vs Kabowa Yeak (12 PM)
