Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have announced the winner of their ‘Design the kit challenge’ competition.
Morrocan Hamza Elkayal’s design came out on top out of the 24 applications that had twenty-two Ugandans, a Moroccan, and an American in a competition that was launched in July 2020.

Express FC CEO Isaac Mwesigwa thanked all the participants who took their time to hand in their pieces and stated that Hamza Elkayal’s piece reflected the club’s direction for next season.
“I want to thank all the people who took their time to hand in their pieces, and as a club, we are grateful. However, we think Elkayal Hamza had the direction we wanted to take,” Mwesigwa told the Club website.
Mwesigwa added that this is not a final design so they won’t be sharing the design with the public.
“This is not the final design, we have to consider a lot of factors but so far so good,” he concluded.
Isacc Mwesigwa replaced Jjunju Hamzah as Express FC CEO at the end of last season. His tenure at the club started with the recruitment of Wasswa Bbossa as the coach, a long way before he was announced in his new role.
Express FC finished 9th on the 16-team log with 31 points garnered in 25 games last season.
