Congolese forward Eric Kenzo Kambale has completed his move to Sudanese Premier League side Al Merrikh.

Kambale joins Al Merrikh on a two-year employment contract until 2024.

This revelation comes just a few hours after Kambale’s previous club Express FC announced his exit

Touchline Sports can confirm that Al Merrick has paid over $40,000 to Express FC (which is more than Shs150m in Ugandan shillings) to sign Kambale who had a year left on his contract.

Reports suggest Kambale will earn in excess of $45,000-per- year at Al Merrick.

Kambale has been an integral figure at the Wakulukuku based side since he joined the club in 2018

In 2021, he helped Express win the Uganda Premier League for the seventh time after scoring 15 goals as the Red Eagles won their first league title since 2012.

He was also a key pillar as Express clinched the 2021 Kagame CECAFA Cup, bagging three goals at the tournament.

While last season, he had eight goals in 24 games as the Red Eagles finished sixth on the league table with 46 points.

It should also be noted that Kambale scored one of the two goals as the Red Eagles beat Al-Merrikh 2-1 at the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League in 2021 at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. They were however eliminated on away goals rule after losing 1-0 in Khartoum, Sudan.
