Eric Baleteirewa: Thanks to Absa Bank Uganda, Uganda Prisons officer wins fully funded trip to UK to watch Arsenal

Eric Baleteirwa, a Uganda Prisons officer, is set to fulfill a dream journey to the United Kingdom this May to witness Arsenal in action at the Emirates Stadium, all thanks to Absa Bank Uganda.

The exciting news was unveiled on Thursday morning at a press conference held at Absa Bank Uganda Headquarters on Hannington Road, Kololo.

Baleteirwa clinched the opportunity as the ultimate victor of the Premier League Campaign, titled ‘Win Your Ticket to Glory,’ which kicked off in December last year and concluded after a month-long run.

Out of the campaign, 40 Absa customers emerged as winners, with 39 walking away with fuel vouchers worth UGX 200,000 each. However, Baleteirwa stood out as the overall champion, securing an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK.

Accompanied by his wife, Baleteirwa will witness Arsenal face Everton at the esteemed Emirates Stadium on May 19, 2024, as revealed by the Prisons officers during the announcement.

“It’s a no-brainer; I will travel with my wife to the United Kingdom, and I thank Absa Bank for this opportunity,” expressed Baleteirwa.

The comprehensive package includes return flights to the UK, airport and hotel transfers, three nights’ accommodation at the Mayfair Hotel, game tickets, and meals, all generously covered by Absa Bank.

In addition to the match experience, the Prisons officer will enjoy a guided tour of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and indulge in shopping at exclusive London restaurants and stores, courtesy of Absa Bank Uganda.

Absa Bank has a longstanding affiliation with the Premier League, consistently rewarding customers with memorable experiences. Notably, in 2015, Absa brought the Premier League trophy to Uganda, allowing EPL fans to interact with the coveted prize.

This season, the bank has continued its tradition of granting 16 tickets to Absa customers, enabling them to attend four top EPL matches live in the stadiums.

Simultaneously, at the same event, Absa Bank Uganda introduced Absa Card Send, a groundbreaking solution on the Absa Mobile banking app. This feature empowers Absa customers to instantly send and receive funds from their Ansa Visa card to any other Visa card worldwide, facilitating seamless cashless transactions in real-time.

Enabled on all Absa Credit and Debit cards, customers can utilize this service to conduct multiple transactions any day of the week, including weekends and public holidays, with transaction limits of up to UGX 50 million and UGX 25 million in various currencies, provided the receiving country allows fast-funds and is not restricted or sanctioned.
