Diaspora: How Ugandan professionals abroad fared over the weekend

Not a weekend of too much league action due to AFCON and winter break in some leagues, but nevertheless some Ugandans were in action for their respective sides.

Here is how they fared over the weekend.

Starting off in England, Jordan Obita featured full-time and made an assist as Wycombe Wanderers secured a 2-0 victory over Oxford United in the English League One.

Still in league one, Jayden Onen was absent as Sheffield Wednesday claimed a 4-2 victory over Plymouth while in the English Championship, Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was also absent as Middleborough secured a 2-1 victory over Reading.

In Israel, defender Timothy Awanyi was absent as his side, Ashdod SC lost 2-1 to Hapoel Hadera in the Israeli Premier League.

While Kizito Luwagga featured full-time as Hapoel Nof HaGalil drew 2-all with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

In Germany, Herbert Bochorn was introduced on in the 80th minute for Chris Antwi as his side VFL Bochum lost 1-0 to Mainz in the German Bundesliga.

In Zambia, Keziron Kizito featured full-time as his side Buildcon FC lost 2-1 to Prison Leopards in the MTN Zambian Premier League.

While also Hashim Ssempala featured for Kabwe Warriors as they lost to Zesco United 1-0.

In Kenya, William Wadri featured full-time for Bandari as they drew 1-all with Vihiga Bullets. Umar Kasumba never made the match day squad.

Bashir Ssekagya started in goal for Wazito United as they secured a 2-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar in the FKF Premier League.

Deogracious Ojok featured for 50 minutes as his side Tusker FC lost 1-0 to City Stars

In Tanzania, Mathias Kigonya started in goal as Azam FC lost the Mapinduzi Cup to Taddeo Lwanga’s Simba SC after a 1-0 loss. Lwanga was still out with an injury.

Khalid Aucho featured for Young Africans FC as they secured a 2-0 victory over Coastal Union in the NBC Premier League while Boban Ziritusa was out as Mtibwa Sugar drew goalless with Ruvu Shootings.

In Rwanda, Ben Ocen featured for Musaze as they drew goalless with Rayon Sports in the Rwanda Primus league.

In Swaziland, Bashir Mutanda was absent as Mbabane Swallows secured a 3-0 victory over Moneni Pirates in the Swazi Premier League.
