Despite playing only the second round of the Egyptian Premier League, Ugandan forward Derrick Nsibambi has been voted as Smouha’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2019-20 season.
During the end of season party held on Thursday evening, the 26-year old former KCCA FC and Cranes forward beat a host of competitors to be named Smouha’s finest.
Derrick Nsibambi has featured in just 18 games, finding the back of the net three times and providing one assist.

“I am so happy to be given this award despite playing few matches this season,” Nsibambi told this website before adding, “Next season, I promise you that I will work harder than I have this season so as to retain this award and help my team win more games.”
“After our last league today, my focus will now shift to the South Sudan game because I want to emulate my club form onto the national team (Uganda Cranes).”
Derrick Nsibambi joined Smouha SC in 2018 and has gone on to feature in 43 games in all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting four times.
