Uganda’s Uganda Cricket Cranes suffered a heavy 98-run defeat to the Namibia men’s national cricket team in the final T20I on Saturday at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek, handing the hosts a 2-1 series victory.

After electing to bowl, Uganda made a disciplined start but failed to contain Namibia’s batting charge. Louren Steenkamp anchored the innings with an impressive 82 off 52 balls, while Nicol Loftie-Eaton added 30 to guide Namibia to 169/6 in 20 overs. Cosmas Kyewuta (2/21) and Juma Miyaji (3 wickets) were Uganda’s standout bowlers but could not stop the late surge.

In reply, Uganda’s batting collapsed under pressure. Early wickets of Simon Ssesazi and Robinson Obuya set the tone for a disappointing chase, with Riazat Ali Shah, Kenneth Waiswa and Joseph Baguma all falling cheaply. Anas Baig top-scored with 19, but Uganda were bowled out for just 71 in 16.5 overs.

Max Heingo starred with the ball for Namibia, taking 4/9, while Ruben Trumpelmann chipped in with 2/7 to seal a dominant win.

The result exposed Uganda’s batting frailties despite earlier promise in the series. The two sides will now shift focus to the 50-over matches, starting Monday at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground.
