Coronavirus: FAU halts all competitions

The Futsal Association of Uganda ( FAU) has postponed all its activities and competitions until further notice.

This follows a directive by Museveni to put an end to all sports activities for the next 42 days during a televised address in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19.

“In the interest of Public health and for the safety of the Futsal community, following the most recent directives issued by the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday 18th, 2021 around the whelming surge of Covid19 spread, all FAU competitions are here by postponed till further notice.” Part of the press release read

“FAU adds to this critical voice and urges all to observe Covid19 Standard Operation Procedures and stay safe.”

The postponement comes at the period when the Futsal Super League was set for the climax on Saturday with the final games of the season. The Futsal Uganda Cup was set to begin on June 26th.
