CHAN 2020: KCCA players left out as McKinstry summons provisional squad

McKinstry names provisional squad ahead of CHAN 2021 finals

No KCCA FC player has been included in the provisional Cranes squad summoned by head coach Johnathan McKinstry as Uganda gears up for preparations leading to the 2021 CHAN tournament in Cameroon.

The Kasasiro Boys have been left on the provisional squad because they still have to prepare for the CAF Confederation Cup engagement in which the club faces Rwandan side AS Kigali.

The 28-player  squad that was named early on Saturday morning includes some new faces and some returnees to the senior team.

Three players (Aziz Kayondo, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Ivan Bogere) who featured at the U-20 tournament in Arusha, Tanzania have been included, while experienced midfielder Tony Mawejje, defender Murushid Juuko and Vipers’ Muhammad Shaban have also returned to the Cranes fold.

Other new faces on provisional squad include Mohamood Hassan, Eric Ssenjobe and Joseph Semujju.

The players will enter residential training on Sunday 20th, December 2020 ahead of the official training sessions scheduled to start on Monday 21st, December.
