Centenary Bank are the winners of the first serie of the 2022 Futsal Executive Tournament.
This is after they defeated New Japanese Auto Works 4-2 in the final held Henry Sports Center, Kabalagala on Saturday.
The one-day tournament attracted over nine corporate teams who were first pitted in two groups.
Centenary Bank was pitted in group B alongside Belong Logistics Limited A, Green Lane Garage and Nkuluze. They beat Nkuluze 2-0 in their first game before humbling Green Lane 10-0 in their second game.
Their last match in the group stages ended in a 1-all draw with BLL A to qualify for the last 8.
In the quarters, they humbled Defend Defenders 5-0 to set up a semi-final show down with Nkuluze, whom they defeated 3-1.
In the finals, they met New Japanese, who had eliminated 2021 champions BLL A in the semis after a 2-1 victory.
After defeating New Japanese in the final, Centenary Bank left the ground with a cheque of One million Uganda Shillings (Shs.1M) and a trophy, all courtsey of the tournament organisers, Sport Edge.
The second serie of the 2022 Futsal Executive Tournament ( FET) will be held on 27th November 2022 at the same ground ( Henry Sports Center)
This tournament is organized by FUFA, Sport Edge Limited, and the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) in a bid to create a thorough awareness of Futsal within the corporate fraternity while giving the participants a chance to network in a sporting environment that also addresses their wellness needs too.
