Abubakar Mayanja was on target as Uganda edged the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda 1-0 in the 2023 CECAFA U18 championship semifinal at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Kisumu on Tuesday morning.
In a game of very few chances, Mayanja scored the only goal for Uganda in the 64th minute.
Before that in the opening half Richard Okello missed a glorious chance to put Uganda infront with a few minutes to the half time break.
This meant that the Morley Byekwaso-coached team have advanced to the final of the tournament.
However finalists Uganda will await to face either Tanzania or the hosts Kenya who are the other semi-finalists.
Thé two will face each other on Tuesday afternoon at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium.
