Two first half goals saw Solitilo Bright stars draw 1-1 with SC Villa at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds in Wakiso on a Tuesday evening.
In a game that was kicked off on a dreaseling evening, the Jogoos starting on the front foot, pushing the home side with intent however there were no concrete chances on either side.
Twelve minutes onto the clock Kakande put in a great cross but Umar Lutalo skied the ball, Villa continued to push but they all didn’t yield anything.
Six minutes later, Villa center back Anorld Odong fouled Nelson Ssenkatuka in the area only for the referee Olemu George to point to the spot.
A minute later Ssenkatuka converted from the spot to give the home side a lead but from there on it was all dominance by SC Villa with Hakim Kiwanuka put a shot wide in the 32nd minute.
Five minutes left on the opening half, Ivan Bogere netted his first of the season through a Kenneth Ssemakula assist to level matters for the visitors only to end the first period 1-1.
Ten minutes after restart, Villa had some penalty claims since Kiwanuka fouled in the area but referee, Olemu indicated play on and Lutalo shot the ball wide of the goal.
At the hour mark Lutalo got injured and paved way for fans favourite Elvis Ngonde, three minutes later, Villa had another chance on goal but Bogere shot off target after Ronald Sekiganda assist.
With seven minutes left to play, Bright Stars’ Nelson Ssenkatuka had a late attempt cleared off the line by Sekiganda.
Therefore by the end of the 90, both Bright Stars FC and SC Villa shared the spoils in a tightly contested 1-1 draw.
The result leaves Bright Stars in 9th with 11 points in 10 games while Villa move a place up in 6th, level on points with URA 13 but with a better goal difference with a game in hand.
In their next games, Bright stars will face KCCA FC in Lugogo on 12th December while Villa will play Express FC on 8th December at Muteesa II Stadium in a Kampala derby.
