Bugisu cruise past Busoga to reach the semis

Bugisu province defeated Busoga 3-4 in an entertaining eastern derby to seal a place in the semi final of the FUFA drum tournament.

Steven Makumba netted a brace for Bugisu with a stunning feat that earned him the man of the match accolade.
Ronald Magwali and Raymond Onyai scored the other goals for Bugisu.

Busoga’s goals were scored by Magunda Bakari, Richard Wandyaka and Yakut Mandela. Bugisu becomes the 3rd team to qualify for the semi finals where they join Lango and Bukedi .

The other game played at the Aki Bua stadium was between the already qualified Lango and West Nile.
West Nile clinched a 1-3 win through Fred Amaku, Richard Agau and Vitalis Tabu but they couldn’t make it to the semi finals. The consolation goal for Lango was scored by Fahad Badiro.

The quarter final matches will climax today, Thursday 5th as teams from group A face off.

Buganda will play Tooro at the Aki bua stadium in Lira at 4:00pm the same time at which Acholi will be taking on Bukedi at Pece stadium in Gulu.
