The Uganda Boxing team “Bombers” will start on their journey to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the Africa qualifiergames in Dakar Senegal.
Disan Mubiru will be the first Ugandan boxer in action against Chinyemba Patrick from Zambia in the Flyweight category in the first preliminary round today 20th February. Disan Mubiru will be in the red corner.
Adinan Yasin will represent Uganda in the Lightweight category against Alem Gebremariam from Ethiopia on Friday 21st as Super heavyweight category will see Geko Solomon against Yegnong Njieyo from Cameron and the Heavyweight category will have Bwambale Alex up against Junior Luvumbo from Angola on Saturday, 22nd February
Male Joshua will play against Cuca Pedro Mafisi of Angola in the Light heavy category on Sunday. Team captain Shadir Musa (welter weight), Ssemujju David (middle weight) and Isaac Masembe (Feather weight) will begin their journey on the second preliminary round.
In the girls category, Akello Suzan will be in action against Sakobi Matsu in the featherweight category on 21st February. Among Rebecca will fight against Khelif Imane from Algeria as Nakalema Emilly will be against Moreira Ivanusa from Cape Verde on 23rd February.
Nassali Doreen and Nanziri Catherine will start their journey on the quarterfinals against Sathoud Ornella (Ghana) and Timera Khadija (Senegal) respectively.
