Big league: Kitara go top, Myda held at home

Kitara FC went atop of the Rwenzori group of the 2019-20 FUFA Big league after on-form  striker Brain Mululi netted twice to propel his side to a 2-0 win over Nyamityobora FC at the Kigaya Stadium in Hoima.

Mululi netted his first goal in the 7th minute when he tapped in from a Patrick Mugumbe’s assist to put his side into an early first half lead.

7 minutes before halftime, the off-season signing doubled the scores from the spot after being fouled in the forbidden area.

In the second half, Nyamityobora tried their level best to get a goal back but Kitara’s defence was rock solid to allow any room for error

Mululi has now netted 5 goals in 2 second round matches after netting 3 in the  7 first round matches.

The win moves Kitara FC top of The Rwenzori group on 22 points, level with Ndejje University but with a supreme goals scored.

In Mukono, Ndejje University cames twice from a goal down to defeat Kansai Plascon 3-2 at the Bishops playground, Mukono

Allan Oryek and Sula Tumusime converted twice from the penalty spot as 4 penalties were scored in 70 minutes. 2 minutes to the death of the game, Brian Ssali got the games’ winner for Ndejje University

Ndejje University are joint top on 22 points while Kansai Plascon stay in relegation area,sitting 8th with 7 points in 10 games

In Kabale, UPDF fought up to the end to defeat Kigezi HomeBoys FC 2-1 away from home. Denis Ssekitoleko and Sydney Ssenyoga scored in first half for the army side before Farouk Samali pulled a goal back for Kigezi in second half but wasnt enough.

In the Elgon group, log leaders MYDA FC drew 1-all with Saviours FC at the Elgon View playground,  Tororo. Saviours’ Jasper Okello goals in the 64 minute neutralised Tony Mulika’s first half strike.

MYDA stay top with 20 points in 10 games, 3 above second-placed Kiboga Young FC.

Bottom placed Katwe United continued their dismal form away from home as they lost once again to 8th placed Light SS FC. Jackson Wabuleta and Lawrence Olaboro  scored for the soroti side before halftime

In Mbale, Kataka were 1-0 winners over Doves All Stars FC in the game played at Mbale Municipal Stadium.Yusuf Enzama scored the lone goal in the 11th minute.

Kataka moves 3rd on the log with 13 points while Doves All Stars FC are 5th on 12 points
