Beach Soccer AFCON 2021 qualifiers: Sand Cranes start residential training ahead of Ghana contest

Uganda’s beach soccer national team, the Sand Cranes have started residential training at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru ahead of the 2021 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations qualifier tie against Ghana.

11 players  out of the 20 summoned by head coach Salim Jamal Muwonge attended Monday’s training session and they included Goalkeeper Nasser Lwamunda (KIU), Paul Lule (Buganda Royal), Davis Kasujja (MUBS), , Suleiman Ochero (St.Lawrence), Peter Mukwata (Mutoola Beach), Swaibu Kakwaya (Buganda Royal), Ronald Magwali, Swalleh Ssimbwa (St.Lawrence University), Ismail Kawawulo (MUBS), Baker Lukooya (St.Lawrence University) and Said Munir.

The rest of the players(9) will join up with the squad  on Thursday after their StarTimss Uganda Premier league engagements with their respective clubs.

The first leg of the tie will be held on 27th March 2020 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru and the second leg is scheduled for 9th-10th April in Ghana.

Meanwhile, also  Charles Ayiekoh, the fitness coach of team hasn’t entered the camp yet as he says he wasn’t served with an appointment letter by FUFA so he can’t be in camp without it
