After a break of more than two months due to COVID-19, the 2021 Futsal Super league will finally climax on Friday 27th August, 2021 with the battle of who takes the major crown.
Debutants Big Talents Soccer Academy with take on seasonal favourites Park FC for gold at the Old Kampala Sports Arena.
In the regular season, Big Talent was second in Albert Nile group with 11 points, behind Mengo FC while also Park finished second in the Victoria Nile group with 8 points, behind Synergy FC.
In the semis, Big Talent SA defeated Synergy 4-3 to reach the final while Park edged past Mengo 1-0 courtesy of captain Iddi Babu lone strike.
Ahead of the final, Big Talent head coach Mohammed Ssembatya is eying victory in the final as that was why they participated this year.
“The results, I have always said this, from day one, Big Talent Soccer Academy didn’t just come to participate in this league but joined to compete and win the trophy, this will let others teams know about us after winning” Ssembatya told the FAU Media.
The Eddie Kenzo owned side has a wonderful crop of players that are left by Uganda U-20 star Wabyona Faisal. The team also houses Farouk Tumwesigye who is still in hunt of golden boot (10) with only four goals behind Billy Nkata.
Park on the otherhand has experienced players throughout their roaster, with many have played in the Futsal Super league since 2017.
Players like Junior Abas, Idi Babu and John Kitanda are some the experienced players.
Before the final though, Synergy and Mengo will battle for third place classification match.
While Aidenal SOSA and Kampala Junior Team will play for 5th and 6th places.
Similarly, Yeak Kabowa and Kisenyi FC face off to determine who finishes bottom and second bottom in the final table standings.
Billy Nkata is currently the top scorer with 14 goals, two above of Synergy’s Travis Mutyaba.
