Having spent 13 years at FUBA NBL giants Betway Power, Joseph Anguru Ikong feels it is time to continue his career somewhere else after his contract came to an end at the end of the season
The Silverbacks forward is rumoured to be in advanced talks with the 7-times NBL defending champions City Oilers.
It is believed that the City Oilers have offered the 34 year old a hefty 2 year contract until 2022 with a option for renewal.
If the deal materializes, Ikong will take his 15 years experience at the oilers and fill the void that was left by fellow Ugandan international Jimmy Ennabu.
Jimmy Ennabu retired from playing active league basketball at the end of the 2019 FUBA NBL season having won 7titles in a row with City Oilers
Ikong has been an integral member of the Power’s roaster, having helped the club win 3 league titles in the process.
Ikong is also part of the Uganda Silverbacks team that was summoned ahead of the 2020 AfroBasket qualifier games in Egypt.
