Latif Kiyemba’s free kick was all what Kyetume needed to stun URA FC 1-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league played at the Nakisunga Ssaza Playgrounds, Mukono on Wednesday.
Kiyemba netted from the free-kick with just only 12 minutes to the death of the game.
In the opening half were chances were far and between each other, the best scoring chance came with seven minutes to the break when Brian Majwega’s shot from outside the box rattled the crossbar to the mercy of the Slaughters.
With the game destined for a draw, the moment of the game arrived in the 78th minutes when Hudu Mulikyi fouled Robert Ssentongo outside the box, Kiyemba stepped up and brilliantly unleashed a powerful free-kick past Hannington Ssebwalunyo and into the back of the net for what could be the game’s winner.
Just before the goal though, URA had a Michael Birungi’s effort cleared off the line by Kyetume’s Moses Okot.
The Tax Collectors tried to press for an equalizer but their quest for it doomed to failure as the Kyetume backline stood rock solid in the closing exchanges.
This result means that URA drops to second place on the log with 54 points, one below Express FC who sit top with just five games to go.
For Kyetume, they have picked crucial maximum points in their quest to avoid relegation as they are now three points below survival.
