StarTimes UPL: Busoga United and Kitara finally fulfill FUFA’s demands

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has finally granted Busoga United FC and Kitara FC the license to feature in the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League that is slated to kick off on December 3, 2020, after fulfilling the licensing requirements.

Busoga United and Kitara FC were earlier on denied licenses for the upcoming top-flight season and were not included on the Draft fixtures which were released two weeks back for failing to submit most of the requirements needed for the process.

This development means that the Uganda Premier League secretariat is expected to reinstate the two clubs to the final fixture which is expected to be released at the start of next week.

FUFA’s submission after the release of the draft schedule without the two clubs was that they were awaiting a response from the two clubs, thereby giving them more time to fix what they were missing, which they did and thus qualifying for the new season.

In another development, four of the seven Clubs whose stadiums had not been graded were able to submit facilities that meet the required standards and therefore make it to the 2020/2021 season as well.

Kavumba Recreational center, after reinspection, has been graded under level three and will be home for Bright Stars and Kitara.

BUL FC will host their games at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe after the facility was deemed fit for licensing while Busoga will play at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru after their proposed Kakindu Stadium failed to meet the requirements for Grade three.
