World Cup U20 Women Qualifiers: Uganda whitewash Kenya at Nyayo

The Uganda National U20 Women’s team have taken a huge step in their quest of qualification to the 2022 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a huge win over Kenya.

This is after they humbled their neighbours 7-2 at the Nyayo International Stadium on Saturday evening.

Julet Nalukenge and Sumaya Komuntale both had braces while captain Fauzia Najjemba, Margaret Kunihira and Shamirah Nalugya had a goal each.

Shaylene Opisa had a double for Kenya as they suffered an humiliating 7-2 loss at home.

Kenya now needs at least a 6-0 victory in the return leg in Kampala to advance to the next round.The return leg will happen on Friday, 8th October.

The winner between Uganda and Kenya will face either South Africa and Mozambique in the next round.

The U20 FIFA Women’s World Cup will take place in August 2022 in Costa Rica.
