We are coming back home with victory – AFFU President, Okeng


Uganda National men’s American Football team ‘The Generals’ were flagged off to Nairobi, Kenya for the return leg of the Africa Zone Series at Makerere on Friday morning.

The team are set to re-face White Rhinos of Kenya who they lost to in the first leg match played at Legends Rugby ground in Lugogo.

With atmost hope to overturn the score, the team is oozing confidence and up steering for revenge in the second leg.

American Football Federation of Uganda (AFFU) president George Okeng urged the team to put up a fighting spirit as they take on the White Rhinos. 

“The team is in good shape after engaging in through training sessions which have been centered on correcting the mistakes we faced in the first leg.”

“I am hopeful that the boys are going to put up a fighting spirit and we are coming back home with victory.” said Okeng.

The Generals’ match against Kenya will be played on Sunday 17th December.

Beyond this, they will play out a friendly match with Ivory which will help them in their preparations ahead of the upcoming continental qualifiers next year.
