The tournament series will be played on Sunday, 27th November and the hosts will play national teams like Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe.

All this was communicated in a press conference that took place on Thursday at the Legends Rugby Ground. It was graced by the two team players in captain for the Uganda American Football side Ken Rohan Kamanzi and wide receiver and safety player Keith Rowan.

Other individuals at the Conference were the President of the American Football Federation of Uganda, Vice President, Team Head coach and partners (The American Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Crowe and Safe Boda).

The Patners with the two players.

Ahead of the game, the President of the American Football Federation of Uganda, Steven George Okeng confirmed that the team has been training ;

The team has been in the training camp for the last two weeks so we just got done with the training camp at trinity College, Nabbingo where we had around 45 participants and so far, 30 have been called for national duty on Sunday.

This being the return leg, the first we were in Nairobi, Kenya in September where we had a tie but this time round, we have Zimbabwe and DRC so this time we expect a good show-down.

It’s the first time we are having a home game and we expect to have the best action and we are going to play full contact but of course you know it’s a fun game  when you watch two teams of Zimbabwe and DRC who shall engage in a plug football which is a none contact game.

This is all a build up towards the 2023 World Continental championship. If Uganda or Kenya wins, the winner will represent Africa in Ireland.

Team Captain Kamanzi (quarter back, linebacker & running back) oozed confidence and readiness ahead of the game saying;

(L-R) Ken Rohan Kemanzi and Keith Rowan.

We are home, been preparing well and ready to play Kenya this Sunday. All the players are physically and mentally fit for the game.

The Africa Zone Series will be free of charge to all spectators..

Beyond the series, the American Football Association of Uganda is working on getting a home in Uganda as well as start a eight(8)club league in 2023.
