Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has said his newly-assembled side will keep improving game by game as the season goes on and believes he will have achieved his target by the end of his contract which runs for three years.

The Wakulukuku based side is still unbeaten this season in the league, having garnered 8 points from their opening 4 games (2 Wins against Soltilo Bright Stars and SC Villa and 2 draws against Onduparaka and Mbarara City).

While speaking on Sanyuka TV’s Endiba Yaffe Sports Show, Bbosa said his team hasn’t performed badly, stating that they have not yet lost a single game.

“We haven’t performed very badly this season because, in our opening four games, we have drawn two games away and won our two games at home,” he said.

“I expect the new players to perform well even if they haven’t been together for long, I believe they will improve their performance and build their chemistry with time. We signed almost all our new players for the long term with contracts stretching to more than two years,” he added.

Wasswa Bbosa, who became the Red Eagles coach on a permanent basis at the start of this season after helping the Red Eagles survive relegation on interim last season also said he set his targets straight and hasn’t changed them.

“My target as I told you when I returned is to guide the club to a trophy in my first three years here and I believe we shall achieve that,” he said.

When asked if he misses any player from last season, Bbosa said he doesn’t miss any player because of the incredible depth in his squad.

“I don’t miss any player because we have incredible depth in our squad who can equally play similar roles and I trust all players I have currently to deliver whether young or old.”

The Red Eagles who are seeking for their first League title since 2012, were so active in the summer transfer window, recruiting 18 new players that included Murushid Juuko, Enock Walusimbi, Abel Eturude, Charles Musige, Mahad Yaya among others.

In their first four games in the StarTimes UPL, Express FC have scored five (Lwesibawa 1 vs Mbarara City, Ssenkaaba 1 vs SC Villa, Kalanda 2 vs Onduparaka and Soltilo Bright Stars, and Kambale 1 Vs Soltilo Bright Stars) goals and conceded three.
