Express FC’s seventh title-winning coach, Wasswa Bbosa, has chosen Murushid Juuko as the most important player at the Wakulukuku based club the recently ended 2020/21 season.

The Red Eagles won their seventh league title early this week after they were declared 2020/21 SUPL champions by the Federation following a premature end to the season due to Covid-19.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV’s Ediba yaffe show on Friday afternoon, Bbosa said that much as he had many players that bolstered his side to the first title in 12 years, none of them matched the former Vipers defender.

“Murushid Juuko surpassed all the targets and expectations we set for him after we signed him. He has been the most important player in our youthful squad,” Bbosa said before adding that;

“He has been a great leader on and off the pitch. Even when he was out with suspension during the season, the lad used to show up in the dressing room to motivate the players so he has been so instrumental in helping us take this title.”

Murushid Juuko was signed by the Red Eagles at the start of last season on a short contract, but he has gone on to man the defense that conceded the least number of goals in league (13)

He featured in 24 league games, scoring one goal and helping his side to 14 cleansheets.

Furthermore in the same interview, Bbosa confirmed that the negotiations with Express so as to renew his contract that expired at the end of last season are ongoing.

“I am still talking to the club about renewing my contact. My future is bright enough right now at least because am a winner and am sure I can’t fail to come to terms with the club.”

“I want to build a dynasty here and I still have alot of work to do here.”

It’s also worth noting that Bbosa was part of the technical team that was heading by Sam Simbwa and won the 2011-12 league title.
