Vipers SC returned to winning ways in style to clinch the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League title after a dominant 3-0 victory over Maroons FC on Tuesday evening.
The Venoms produced a composed and clinical display to secure their eighth league crown while maintaining their unbeaten run in the league with just one game left to play this season.
The champions got off to a dream start when Yunus Sentamu scored inside the opening minute, tapping home from close range after an effort from Milton Karisa.
Maroons attempted to respond and nearly found an equaliser through Marvin Oshaba, but Kevin Dasylva made a crucial goal-line clearance to preserve Vipers’ lead.
The visitors continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their advantage moments before halftime when Usama Arafat’s strike took a deflection before beating the goalkeeper.
Vipers sealed the victory in the second half through Abdul Karim Watambala, who capitalised on a defensive error before calmly finishing into the back of the net.
Karisa later had an opportunity to add a fourth goal in the closing stages, but his effort went off target as the Venoms comfortably managed the remainder of the contest.
The victory lifted Vipers to 64 points at the top of the table and officially confirmed them as 2025/26 Uganda Premier League champions with one match still remaining.
Beyond winning the title, Vipers’ unbeaten run throughout the campaign highlights their consistency and dominance, having avoided defeat in all their league matches so far this season.
