Afternoon Fixture

Victoria Strikers – 215/2 (20 overs)
Mburo Blasters – 171/5 (20 overs)
Result: Victoria Strikers won by 44 runs
Player of the Match: Simon Ssesazi

Victoria Strikers produced a powerhouse batting display in the afternoon clash, piling up 215/2 in their allotted overs. Simon Ssesazi was the standout performer, smashing an unbeaten 116 off 61 balls, supported by Perry Wazombe (39) and captain Kenneth Waiswa (47), who ensured a strong platform and sustained momentum.

Mburo Blasters responded with resistance, led by an unbeaten 79 from Steven Wabwose and 27 from Edwin Nuwagaba, but the required rate proved too steep. Victoria’s bowling unit held its discipline, with Oloka Pius (2/25), Mukisa Eric (1/33), and Jaffer Ochaya (1/34) combining effectively to restrict them to 171/5 and secure a 44-run win.

Victoria Strikers’ Remarkable Turnaround

Victoria Strikers began their campaign on a difficult note, losing their first three matches in the double round-robin stage. However, they staged a remarkable comeback, regrouping strongly to revive their title hopes.

Their resurgence included a memorable five-wicket win over Bunyonyi Warriors, followed by dominant victories against Mburo Blasters. They carried this momentum forward with a narrow four-run win over Kyoga Avengers before finishing the group stage with another emphatic 44-run triumph.

Under captain Kenneth Waiswa, the Strikers transformed from early strugglers into one of the most dangerous sides in the competition, peaking at the perfect time.

In the decisive phase, Simon Ssesazi once again delivered a match-defining performance with a stunning century, earning him Player of the Match honours and capping off Victoria’s dominant finish. Despite all three top teams finishing level on 10 points, Victoria Strikers clinched the title on net run rate.
