Victoria Pearls resume training ahead of World Cup Qualifiers


The Victoria Pearls have launched into their training regimen at Lugogo Cricket Oval in preparation for the upcoming world cup qualifiers.

With a dedicated squad of 23 talented women summoned for this intensive training, the team’s initial focus is on rigorous strengthening and conditioning exercises, aiming to regain peak fitness following the festive season break.

In an exclusive conversation with Consylate Aweko Nimungu, the team captain expressed her enthusiasm about returning to training after the extended hiatus.

She acknowledges the challenges ahead but exudes confidence in her team’s capabilities, foreseeing commendable performances and robust competition during the global qualifiers.

Adding to the team’s strength are the recent arrivals from Soroti, namely Amuge Kevin, Amongin Naome, and Nandera Immaculate.

Consy believes their integration into the team, coupled with meticulous preparations, will significantly bolster Uganda’s prospects during the Dubai qualifiers.

Speaking on behalf of the coaching staff, Coach Lawrence Ssempija conveyed a sense of optimism.

Reflecting on the team’s positive momentum from the previous year, he noted their high spirits, solid form, and unwavering determination to represent Uganda with pride on the global stage; He emphasizes the team’s readiness to deliver and make the nation proud.
