- Mbale Heroes 0-4 Vipers
Two braces from Milton Karisa and Allan Okello comfortably take Vipers Back to the UPL table summit with 0-4 result over Mbale Heroes at the Mbale stadium on Friday evening.
Karisa scored the first half’s only goal with a brilliant header after a Superb delivery from Nicholas Wadada just 7 minutes into the game.
Riding swiftly into the Venoms dominated possesion but the Surgeons had a chance that nearly leveled matters through Jeremy Matata who missed an open goal from a yard out.
Five minutes later, Gusto Mulongo’ strike almost doubled matters when it hit the post but the game lagged on with a 1-0 edge till the break with Delton Oyo the Mbale shot stopper handling matters quite well.
However the Venoms after the restart ran rampant netting three with Okello’s sweet left foot, slotting the ball far off the post into the net in 46th minute before completing his brace 16 minutes to full time a tap in past incoming Oyo.
Karisa then rounded off proceedings with a beautiful strike two minutes later to hand Vipers maximum points and a clean sheet for Alfred Mundekereza.
The result takes Vipers top on 28 points, a point more than NEC in second while Mbale Heroes sink to the bottom with 9 points level with Bright stars who have a better goal difference of -6.
Mbale Heroes hope to rejuvenate themselves away against Maroons next year on January 2nd whereas Vipers will return into action a day after when they visit UPDF in Bombo.
