UPL: Shaban brace to defeat Mbarara City takes KCCA six with in top spot

Mohammed Shaban scored a brace that guided KCCA to a 4-0 win against Mbarara city under the flood lights at the MTN Omondi stadium.

Shaban converted a penalty in the 31st minute after Katenga was fouled in the forbidden area and in the fifth minute of the second half he capitalized on a rebound from goalkeeper, Ronald Mutebi to complete his brace.

The other two goals came from Ashraf Mugume who scored a direct free kick in the 15th minute.

Winger, Etienne Katenga scored the final goal of the day in the 54th minute, hitting the back of the net from Usama Arafat’s cross.

The hosts dominated the entire game through Saidi Mayanja in the midfield, Katenga and Usama in the left and right flunks respectively.

Joseph Akwambanaho, Henry Kitegenye, Puis Wangi made several attempts for the visitors.

The Kasasiro boys now lie in the 6th position with 38 pionts ahead of the 7th placed Maroons by a 3 goal difference.

The Ankole Lions dropped to the 11 position due to goal difference despite being tied at 28 points with Bright stars.

Abdallah Mubiru’s side will make a short trip to Kavumba to play Bright stars on 25th April while Wasswa Bbosa’s side will host relegation strikened UPDF on 26th April at the Kakyeka stadium.
