  • UPDF 1-0 Wakiso Giants

KCCA FC continued their impressive start with 1-0 win over Bright stars at Kavumba on Tuesday evening.

Despite having been one of those night mare hunting grounds from the Kasasiro boys in the recent times, it was a different story this time round.

Derrick Nsibambi scored the only goal at the half hour mark, calmly sloting the ball home off a good Saidi Mayanja delivery.

However it was no good news for KCCA and Uganda Cranes as Nsibambi looked uncomfortable in the closing parts of the opening half.

In the second half, he didn’t return with a possible muscle injury and was replaced by Emmanuel Anyama.

This victory took KCCA FC top of the League with 10 points while Bright stars stayed 15th with 2 points.

In their next games, Bright stars will lock horns with Mbarara City on the 25th October , a day after KCCA FC will visit Mbale Heroes  (24th October).

In the other game of the day, new signing Samuel Ssekamatte scored a crucial penalty to secure UPDF FC’s second home win of this season.

UPDF managed 1-0 victory over Wakiso Giants at Bombo Barracks Military Ground in the Uganda Premier League.

Ssekamatte’s penalty came as a result of Musa Ssegujja’s handball from Christopher Kawagu’s cross and was confidently converted in the 57th minute, sending goalkeeper Alitho James the wrong way.

UPDF maintain their 100% win record at home second win of the season in  Bombo after edging Lugazi 1-0 on Matchday two (2), adding to away draw with Maroons on the opening day, UPDF lay third on the Log with 7 points.

On the other side, this was Wakiso Giant’s first loss of the season after winning twice and drawing once this season with their three-match winning streak in Bombo broken.

In their next games, UPDF will host URA on Thursday 24th October 2024, a day after Wakiso Giants take a short trip to NEC FC(25th October).
