- Police 0-0 Lugazi
Police Football Club and Lugazi Football Club played out a goalless draw in the first game after the International break held at Kavumba Recreation Grounds on Wednesday evening.
In a game that promised match it was much of suprise that no goals were sighted despite both side having clear chances at goal.
The hosts started off the dominant side with Gadaffi Kacancu trying his luck seven (7) minutes into the game with a shot from distance which easily dealt with by the Lugazi goalkeeper Emuran Fahad.
Seven minutes later, Gerald Ogweti sprinted brilliantly from the left to delivers an in-swinger which was headed wide by Isaac Ogwang.
Ogweti who was the shining spark on the day, followed a defense splitting pass, loops the ball above the advanced Emuran but his attempt fell to the side net eight minutes past the half hour mark.
However Lugazi’s Freedom Mungudit too had the visitor’s most noticeable chance of the first half after Saaka Sharif battled for the ball in between two bodies, and comes out the winner to chest it down for him before his shot was deflected out for a corner the stanza 0-0.
Four minutes after restart, Police’s Reagan Male received a ball from Ogweti only to put off one marker before curling the ball inches away from goal.
At the hour mark, Steven Kabuye was fouled outside the box resulting into a freekick which Isaac Ogwang took on only for Lugazi goalkeeper Emuran to save it comfortably.
Despite Police being the dominant side, a goal failed to come by thus the game ending goalless.
This was Police’s sixth draw of the campaign and it takes them to Fourth with 12 points whereas Lugazi remain 10th, two less than the Cops.
In their next games, Police will take a short trip to Bombo and face UPDF on Wednesday 27th November while Lugazi host KCCA three days later.
