A one all draw at the Lugazi stadium in Najjembe away to BUL FC crippled NEC FC’s chances of extending their lead on top of the League table.

Cromwell Rwothomio gave NEC the lead with a header off Gaddafi Wahab’s free kick in the 38th minute before fullback Nickolas Mwere equalized for BUL when the NEC defence failed to clear Ibrahim Mugulusi’s corner kick.

This point takes NEC (27 points) to just two ahead of second placed Vipers who still have a game in hand but also dropped points over the weekend at home when they hosted BUL FC, ending with the similar result.

Beside their goalless draw against Police FC on match day 4, NEC have won all their 6 other home games but have still struggled for an away victory, winning only twice in the six on the road.
