Lugazi Football Club attain their second win of the season against NEC FC 1-0 at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Wednesday.
The Steven Bogere coached side got their only goal through Sam Ssemugugu’s lone strike in the second half.
Ssemugugu netted his goal with twenty minutes left to play after nicking the ball off Ibrahim Kiyemba near the center line for a run to put it low past Hannington Ssewalunyo.
The forward managed to get his second of the campaign thus powering Bogere to his first win as Lugazi head coach.
Victory takes Lugazi to 11th on the Log with 8 points level on points with URA FC who are 7th thanks to a better goal difference.
For NEC FC this is their second loss of the campaign which deprives them of a spot at the top before KCCA game.
They stay second on the table with 15 points, one off top side Vipers SC.
In their next games, Lugazi will be away as they face Wakiso Giants on 6th November 2024 while NEC FC will host Police in Lugogo a day before.
In the other game of the day, Isaac Ogwang once again took Police over the line at home to Mbale Heroes at Kavumba
The game ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts with Ben Ocen opening the scoring just 23 minutes into the game to end the opening half 1-0.
Second half saw the visitors level matters through Umar Kyebatala just four minutes after restart before Ogwang restored Police’s lead five minutes to Full time.
Result takes Police to 4th with 10 points while Mbale Heroes stay 15th with 4 in 7 games.
Mbale Heroes will host BUL in Mbale on Sunday 10th November 2024.
