  • Lugazi 1-1 Mbarara City

Ali Bayo‘s late goal secured a point for Lugazi Football Club as they drew 1-1 with Mbarara City at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Thursday evening.

With the first half ending goaless, both goals were Latif Ssenkubuge scoring for the Ankole Lions before Bayo grabbed the equalizer.

Ssenkubuge netted his tap in from a Joseph Akandwanaho cross on the left to lift the Mbarara fans belief just ten (10) minutes after restart.

However it was to their surprise when Bayo leveled matters with a beautiful strike on the 18 yards box edge five (5) minutes to the 90 mark.

The well intended and constructed goal came after quick low free kick started by Moses Buga to Abdul Kalanzi who lifted it for Alvin Birungi to head it into Bayo’s path.

This result leaves both Lugazi and Mbarara City on 13 points in 12th and 13th respectively.

Lugazi FC will play their next game away in Nakivubo against URA on Thursday 19th December as Mbarara host Wakiso Giants at Kakyeka on Saturday 21st December.

In the other game of the day, Visitors Kitara ran rampant against Maroons with 4-0 score thanks to goals from former player Fred Amaku, Ronald Otti and a Jude Semugabi brace
