Uganda Premier League new entrants Police Football Club began the 2024/25 season campaign with a strong performance to achieve an draw against title contenders BUL

The 10 man Cops who hosted their at Kavumba Recreation Ground managed to collect a point after striker Gerald Ogweti was sent off in the first half.

This happened after Ogweti elbowed a35th minute after he fouled Walter Ochora.

With the numerical scale falling onto one side but Edward Kasibante was the man of the moment after making several good saves.

Kasibante made saves from Ramz Kawooya in the third minute and later at the hour mark where at this point, the Eastern Giants were in total control of the game.

With a much needed win, changes of Ibrahim Mugulusi and Amos Kirya who were replaced by George Kasonko and Reagan Kalyowa respectively, made one minute after the hour. The Abbey Kikomeko coached side still couldn’t find the breakthrough.

The draw means Police start new season at home with a point and will play their next game away at Kakyeka to play Mbarara City while BUL are set to host KCCA in Najjembe at the Lugazi Stadium on Friday 20th.

Elsewhere SC Villa thumped Mbarara City 4-2 at Wankulukuku as Express edged Mbale Heroes 2-1 at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.
