Uganda has lost its second straight game at this year’s ICC Challenge League B tournament in Uganda.

The Cricket Cranes lost to Hong Kong by six-wickets after a poor battling display at Kyambogo Cricket Oval.

Uganda won the toss and elected to bat first but collapsed to 94 all out in 33.2 overs after Simon Ssesazi, Dinesh Kumar Nakrani and Riazat Ali Shah all failed to pick any runs for Uganda.

Hong Kong in response used 21.5 overs to make 96/4 to secure an easy victory over the hosts.

Ronak Patel was Uganda’s most outstanding player on the day as he made 35 runs while Nizakat Khan and Adit Gorawara picked 24 and 22 runs respectively for Hong Kong who secured their second victory of the tournament.

With the loss, Uganda drop to second place on the ICC challenge league B table and will now hope to garner their first victory of the tournament against bottom-placed Bermuda on Tuesday.

Uganda finished the first round with 5 wins in 5 games in Oman but the second round has seen them lose their first two games at home. They need to finish top of the log at the end of the third round (which will be hosted in Jersey in August) to qualify to the final round of the 2023 ICC World Cup qualifiers.
