The Uganda National Football Team has discovered it’s opponents in the 2023 TOTAL Energies CHAN Qualifiers.

Uganda will face either Somalia or Tanzania in the second round of qualification to the continental finals in Algeria.

Uganda received a bye from the first round of qualification due to its World and CECAFA rankings.

The winner between Somalia and Tanzania will face Uganda in the second round – with the second round of that tie played in Uganda.

The first legs in the opening round of CHAN qualifiers will be played from July 22-24, with the second legs from July 29-31. The second round will start with the first legs on August 26-28, and the return fixtures on September 2-4.

The three CECAFA winners of the second round ties will advance to the finals in Algeria.

In the 2023 CHAN finals, CECAFA will be represented by three nations after the tournament was expanded to 18 teams.

Uganda will be hoping to qualify for the CHAN finals for sixth consecutive time having featured at 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021 finals.
