Uganda Cup: Anaku downs Doves as KCCA book a slot in last 8

KCCA FC beat big league side Dove FC 1-0 to book a slot in the quarterfinals of Uganda cup.

Sadat Anaku scored in the 12th minute of the game to hand the Kasasiro Boys a deserved win against 10-man Dove FC in a game played at Katushabe grounds in Masindi.

Doves FC put up a spirited fight as they looked for a comeback but their efforts were cut short when their captain Ivan Busingye was shown matching orders for committing a ridiculous foul on young lad Juma Ibrahim in the 67th minute of the game.

KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi was not pleased with how his team played but was happy for the result earned, remaining positive on his ambitions of winning this season’s Uganda Cup.

We have not played as we could have but we got the result we wanted.
Our main aim is to win the Uganda cup and try to play a catch up game as we look forward to defending the league because we still have the chance.
He said.
Every challenge that comes in front of us is important and this was one of them.
He added.
Mutebi was cautioned for fielding youth team players but insists he still has a  big target of nurturing young players. He had Juma Ibrahim who plays for the junior side in the starting lineup.
We have the responsibility of nurturing new and young players, it’s the same we have done to players like Allan Okello,  Mustafa Kiiza and Julius Poloto because these young players are the ones that have won most of the trophies.
He exclaimed
