Ade Brian’s first-half penalty was enough for Uganda Christian University (UCU) to beat Kumi University 1-0 in the University Football League to extend their lead in group B.
Ade struck in the 17th-minute after being taken down in the penalty area by Kumi skipper Okure to give the visitors a first-half lead.
Uganda Christian University dominated proceedings with lots of ball possession and attempts but lacked the precision to add a second before recess.
The hosts had a chance to level matters in the 50th minute when Andrew Omogin was brought down in the forbidden area but Derrick Were parried the resulting penalty out for a corner.
The win sees UCU extend their lead at the top of Group B to 7 points in 3 games with one in hand.
