Uganda Cricket fraternity Mourns the Loss of Esteemed Trustee, Enock Barumba

The Uganda Cricket Association mourns the profound loss of Mr. Enock Barumba, an illustrious trustee, who passed away after battling a prolonged illness at Victoria Hospital.

Mr. Barumba, a revered founding member of Nile Cricket Club, was elected as a trustee earlier this year on 12th March, alongside Mr. Praminder Garcha.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Barumba epitomized unwavering dedication to cricket, offering exceptional leadership and financial support within Nile Cricket Club.

His influence was not confined to the club; serving two terms as the Honorary Secretary for the Uganda Cricket Association in 2008 and 2009, under the chairmanship of Dr. Kato Ssebale, he played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of cricket in Uganda.

Even during periods of reduced activity, Mr. Barumba remained an invaluable advisor, providing sage guidance to the new leadership of Uganda Cricket.

His unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the cricket fraternity have left an indelible mark that will be deeply missed.

On 19th March 2019, during the Special General Meeting (SGM), discussions surrounding constitutional amendments were deferred.

Mr. Enock Barumba was an essential part of the new committee established to review the constitution, alongside Committee Members Eng William Kibukka Musoke (CM), Dr. Rajin Taylor, and Mr. Premal Yagnick.

Acknowledging his lasting impact, we collectively grieve the loss of a revered member of the Cricket Fraternity. In this solemn moment, we reflect on the timeless adage.
