Cranes Coach Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho has confirmed that Uganda Cranes will have two friendly matches against Ethiopia on Friday and Sunday this week.
This will be in preparation for the forthcoming two legged African Nations Championship Qualifier against Tanzania
The first leg of the qualifiers will be played on Sunday 28th August at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Tanzania while the return leg will be played in Uganda at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on 3rd September.
Micho came out clarify that;
From 25th of July when we started preparations, I believe we have done a good job considering players were coming from off season.
According to FUFA, the team will fly out to Ethiopia on Thursday ahead of the two games.
Micho says the two games against Ethiopia will be a good test for his team.
Ethiopia is a good team and 95% of their national team players feature in their local league. They beat Egypt in the AFCON Qualifiers and that speaks volumes.
From Ethiopia, Uganda Cranes will head to Zanzibar for acclimatization before going to Tanzania.
Furthermore, 10 Vipers SC players have been summoned by Micho to join the team on Wednesday morning, but only five will travel with the team to Ethiopia.
