As Uganda Cranes await their qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations with two Group K games to go, they were nominated in the CAF Awards.

The Cranes were nominated with 10 others for the National Team of the Year Award that will be held on December 16th this year in Marrakech, Morocco.

Uganda is lined up alongside Angola, Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and 2024 AFCON champions Ivory Coast.

The Cranes under Belgian Joseph Paul Putt and assistant Sam Ssimbwa have had an impressive run since November 2023 currently laying on top of the Group K in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers with 10 points.

Uganda has previously won the National Team of the Year Award in the CAF Awards of 2016, same year when we had Dennis Onyango on the team of the Year after he took home Goal Keeper of the same year.
