Uganda Boxing Champions League: No time to rest as boxers get back in ring for Olympic qualifiers

After two weeks and one week of no action, the most anticipated competition in the land-Uganda Boxing Champions League will return with a bang this Saturday at Club Obligato.

This will be the competition’s week 8 and will also act as a 2024 Olympics qualifer for the boys and therefore the bouts will include a number of medalists from the Africa Elite Boxing Championship.

With lots of fights on the day, there are two of which can currently headline any Champions League week.

Kibira Owen will face Isaac Senyange of Zebra in a Light Middle contest

In the Light weight category, Joshua Tukamuhebwa will take on fellow East coast lad Jafar Onen.

For Lukanga BC’s Kyobe Jonathan there will be no room to hide as he will take on East Coast’s Khassim Mulungi in the feather weight category.

Lady Bombers Captain Emily Nakalema will have to fight fellow AFBC medalist Erina Namutebi of UPDF.

All fights on the day will go on as follows.

The Uganda Boxing Champions league is the only tournament where national team boxers are selected.

A boxing fan needs Ushs.20,000 for Ordinary ticket, Ushs.50,000 for VIP and Ushs.100,000 for VVIP.
