Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru: Ugandan striker on target in Wycombe’s humiliating loss to Brentford

Ugandan striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was on target for Wycombe Wanderers as they were demolished by Brentford 7-2 in the English Championship match played at Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday evening.

Brentford opened the scoring in the 9th minute from an inviting corner as Ethan Pinnock poked the ball past Ryan Allsop in the Wycombe goal but the Chairboys levelled matters three minutes afterwards when Ikpeazu produced an outstanding move to score with a classy finish from outside the box.

Brentford then took the lead in the 41st minute through Tariqe Fosu but Wycombe responded before the halftime break through Admiral Muskwe.

Brentford was the better side in the second half as they put five past Ikpeazu’s Wycombe through Fosu second goal of the game, Ivan Toney’s brace, Sergi Canós and Josh Dasilva goals.

The Wycombe talisman, Ikpeazu had a chance to get his second of the game but Brentford goalie David Raya palmed the strike onto the post and subsequently cleared danger.

Ikpeazu has featured 9 times for the Chairboys this season in the Skybet Championship, finding the back of the net twice sofar.

With the humiliating loss, Wycombe Wanderers stay bottom of the 24-team log, having garnered 15 points in their 24 games this season.
