Transfers: Versertile Nakibuuka joins Kampala Queens

Asia  Nakibuuka joins Kampala Queens from Kawempe Muslim women football Club after five years in the valley.

Before leaving the valley she penned down an emotional farewell

Nakibuuka 19, is the third player to join the Palace after Sumaya Komuntale and Teddy Najjuma, signing a medium term stay at the Queens of Soccer palace for an undisclosed fee.

The versertile defender is national team player who represented Uganda at the recently concluded 2022 WAFCON where she featured in all Uganda’s games in her maiden Africa Cup Of Nations.

Asia Nakibuuka is a 19 year old a right back who can play in various positions including left back, center back and midfield.

But who is Asia Nakibuuka? 

She started up her senior career as a winger at London College and then was advised by Coach Majida Nantada to switch to being a full back something she Adapted to well

Later on she switched to Kawempe Muslim where she has spent the last five years of her career under the guidance of head coach Ayub Khalifa.

Nakibuuka made her senior national team debut in 2018 when Uganda faced Kenya in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Qualifiers but mainly has been playing for the U20 side.

Her signing indicates more competition of places in the title contenders’ squad especially with presence of other defenders like Lukia Namubiru who featured once at both the CECAFA games and WAFCON, Sanyu, Dorcus Nabuffu and many others.

Kampala Queens FC finished 2nd on table in the previous season 2021-2022 missing out on the championship on goal difference; just one goal behind the winners She Corporate FC.
