Thirteen (13) suspended over Match fixing

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has provisionary suspended a total 13 individuals for 90 days.

These 13 who include a player, ten match officials, former football club executive and an administrator have been allegedly suspended for match-fixing effective immediately.

Ali Kaddu, Atuheirwe Joyce, Nabisera Tausi, Geoffrey Sajjabi, Noor Hassan, Muyaga Khalid, Okello Simon Peter, Atuhaire Dorcus, Ichilla Samuel, and Nantantya Godwin.

Administrator

Epieru Richard

Football Player:

Kiyemba Latif (Lugazi player)

The action follows alerts received by the Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee indicating that an organized criminal ring had targeted several matches for manipulation to benefit betting activities as per SportsNation.

Under Article 77(8) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code 2023, official investigations were launched against the 13 individuals.

Further action will be taken if the above parties are found guilty by the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary after investigations.
