The FUFA Drum 2019 Quarter finals continue to spark the northern region districts of Lira and Gulu.
After the first 2 match days, the competitions conditions today with 2 fixtures on card for matchday 3 as Lango takes on Busoga at the Pece stadium in Gulu while Bugisu and West Nile face-off at the John Akii-Bua Stadium in Lira.
Earlier, on Saturday, 30 Nov 2019 the quarterfinals started with 2 games as Busoga and West Nile played out to a 1-All draw while Bugisu beat Lago 1-0.
Richard Wandyaka scored for Busoga province in the 54th minute of the game while Maroon’s Fred Amaku scored the leveler for West Nile.
In the second game on the day Ivan Okello scored the only game of the day as Lango defeated Bugisu Province by a 1-0.
Yesterday, had matchday II games with Tooro Province falling to Bukedi Province by 2-1 thanks to goals from Ibra Nsimbe (15th minute) and Fredson Gwoto (36th minute). However, Anwar Ntege had already scored for Tooro Province in the 10th minute of the game. Bukedi’s Ibrahim Pengere of was named Man of the Match in this one.
On the same day at 4pm, in Gulu Pece Stadium, Buganda played against Acholi. Tito Okello a player in Startimes Uganda premier league with Vipers SC inspired the Acholis to victory scoring in the 1-0 to win agaianst Buganda in the first fixture.
