Lawrence Tezikya scored the all important goal at Kavumba Recreation Center as BUL FC overcame Bright Stars 1-0 in their opening game of the 2022/24 Uganda Premier League season.
Tezikya’s goal came 35 minutes into his debut to help his side pick up all three points.
Through-out the 90 minutes, BUL were the better side of the game and had a couple of chances to win by a wider margin
Alex Kitata got denied twice by Hassan Matovu in the earlier exchanges before Kalyowa and Kirya failed to find the target from their brilliant chances.
Bright Stars tried to get an equalizer in the closing half, but BUL defense was rock-tight to deny that.
In their next game, BUL will host KCCA in Jinja on Saturday while Bright Stars will be away to Wakiso Giants.
