The 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League Westnile derby between Arua Hills SC and Onduparaka FC has ended in a goalless stalemate.

Nothing could separate the two sides in the match played at the Barifa Stadium, Arua on Tuesday evening.

The two sides started at a super-charged pace but Arua Hills were more composed as they had the best attempts of the opening half.

They fashioned their first attempt on target in the second minute but Onduparaka FC custodian Michael Kagiri made an excellent stop to deny Alfred Leku’s sublime effort from outside the box.

With just eight minutes into play, the game was forced into a 30-minute premature stoppage after one of the perimeter fences collapsed in  under the influence of the energetic fans.

After the security were deployed at that end, play was allowed to resume and Onduparaka had their first attempt on goal in the 20th minute as Mansoor Safi’s effort was saved by Kongolo’s custodian Richard Anyama.

Samuel Ssekamate then missed a glorious chance to put Arua Hills ahead as he came one on one with Kagiri but he chipped the ball above the crossbar

Onduparaka also had a chance to go ahead before the break but Ibrahim Magandazi made a last ditch clearance to deny Mohammed Shaban from finding the back of the net from close range.

The wonderfully contested game went into the break with the scores tied at nil-nil.

At the start of second half, four changes were made, three for Arua Hills and one for Onduparaka. Allan Mugalu,Richard Kawawa and Ivan Eyam came on for the Kongolo while James Jarieko came on for Emmanuel Oketch for the Caterpillars.

The caterpillars made their second change of the game at the hour mark, Nathan Oloro coming on for Ivan Okello and few minutes afterwards, Oloro almost put his side ahead but his strike from close range went agnozingly itches off the mark.

Mohammad Shaban had a chance to steal all the three points for Onduparaka FC but the former Vipers SC and KCCA FC striker put his effort wide just wide.
